We must try to focus on the support we do have--we have the support of those most closely connected to us, those who know what's really going on in schools-- rather than the noise from those on the outside who may seek to intimidate and silence us for their own gain and purposes. Teachers do amazing things every day, and we do our best with what we have in each moment, and we carry on despite the issues we face. It is our solidarity that helps us to continue another day. It is NOT hopeless, it is absolutely do-able with hearts like yours on our side. We are teachers, and we must BE and DO what we believe is right in order to align the system to creating healthier, happier humans and communities. Stick with it. I would like to use this blog in my next Local's newsletter with your permission? Take care and know that there are many people reading this and feeling better about what they do each and every day for and with their students. I know that you couldn't not be an incredible role model to your students and provide them with amazing opportunities to learn. Some of them large some of them small, but all important. You're an amazing teacher, and that school is lucky to have you. I think you may have landed where you're needed the most. I hope you can keep your head up, because as I said already, you matter and you're making a difference. Sadly, it's just not always apparent soon enough.
